Overview

Browser Mate combines a conversation with a language model and tools executed in your browser. It can click, type into non-sensitive fields, extract text, scroll, wait for elements, navigate, switch tabs and capture the screen during a request.

You decide the request

The extension acts on an explicit instruction. The plan and the receipt help you follow execution, but they do not guarantee the model always interprets your intent correctly. Review the results, especially for financial tasks, publishing or deleting information.

Review security before you start

In the current default configuration, “Allow all” is enabled and per-category confirmations are off. The plan is enabled and may ask for approval before the first actions, but that does not replace risk-based confirmations. See Settings Security.

Where it runs

Actions and the extension’s storage run locally. If you choose a remote provider, the request and the authorized context are sent directly to that provider. With a local endpoint, inference may run on your computer. There is no Browser Mate AI backend in the BYOK version.

Important limits

• Internal browser pages and some extension stores are restricted.
• Password, card and other recognized sensitive fields require human input; the extension does not fill them automatically.
• Complex interfaces, frames or models without tools may cause failures.
• A screenshot may contain visible sensitive information: field protection in the DOM does not mean images are anonymized.
• There are no guarantees of completion, exact cost or absence of model errors.
